ICAEW Past President
Andrew N. Ratcliffe leads a panel discussion about big data and fintech from
the CEIBS Insights 2018 Forum in London. The panel looks at opportunities for
big data in financial services, the relationship between innovators and
established players in the financial sector, and tackles a number of important
issues surrounding data security and privacy.
The panel also raises a number of important questions, including what factors are driving innovation in big data and fintech? How is China leading the world in terms of fintech? How will blockchain enable more people access to financial services? What is acceptable for companies to do with personal data? Is data privacy really a new issue? How do attitudes towards data privacy vary across different demographics? And, how is big data transforming decision-making processes and what are the implications when it comes to people and skills?
